About

A reporter’s discipline, applied to strategy

International newsrooms, Canadian public-interest journalism, and institutional storytelling — held to the same editorial standard.

Shawgi Mustafa is a Toronto-based journalist and strategic communications professional. The thread through his work is professional translation of dense material — markets, policy, institutions — without flattening the facts.

He has covered energy markets and producer diplomacy, including OPEC+ supply strategy, LNG, energy security, and the financial realities of renewable investment. In Canada his reporting turns to immigration systems, settlement infrastructure, housing, and the economic life of newcomers.

That reporting background feeds a second practice: strategic communications. Newsroom leadership, bilingual public information, donor storytelling, and multimedia production are treated as editorial problems — audience, evidence, clarity — not marketing decoration.

He works in English and Arabic, with newsroom experience in Sudan, Qatar, and Canada. Recent Canadian training includes a Digital Marketing diploma from Trebas Institute (2024) and a Graphic Design diploma from Academy of Learning Career College (2025), applied to data visualization, digital publishing, and institutional design.
